How Mythology changed it's Ways

How Mythology changed its Ways

Many movies tend to change the original story. Usually in a movie that is based on books  would have some things that are different in the book. I understand that because it probably would have more pages then a movie script. The same thing goes for other stories.
In the marvel comic books, shows, and movies have different characters. Some of the characters from the Thor comics come from Norse mythology. The first time I found out about this was when I was watching a show from the 90s called, "Hercules, the Legendary Journeys."
In the beginning of one of the episodes, Hercules kept on dreaming about a character named Balder and he dreamed about Balder being killed. He kept on having the same dream. Throughout the episode, it showed the rest of prince Balder's family. King Odin which was his father, Thor(The Thunder God) which was one of his brothers, and Loki which was his other brother. Once I saw Loki and Thor come into the story I was shocked because they were apart of super hero comics as well.
The super hero comics tend confuse people because it makes people think that Thor and Loki were the only sons of King Odin. Loki and Thor were not the only sons of King Odin because Balder was one of his sons as well. A lot of people like the super hero content so much that they don't even know that Thor originally came from mythology. If Balder is in the super hero comics, then they should add him in the story a little bit more because I think that Balder plays a important role in the mythology story. I believe that Balder is in the comic story but I think that he's addressed as his friend and not his brother.

King Odin's Death

When King Odin and his wife died in the mythology story, they died at the same time. King Odin couldn't see because he didn't have eyes anymore so he wrapped something around his eyes then he kissed his wife good bye while they were freezing in a palace. It was just simple like that, nothing extra. In the comic, King Odin and his wife died at two different times. I'm not saying that it would be better if the mythology story would be copied but it would just be better if it was similar to the original story. I saw Hercules have a battle against Thor and Loki in the show, it would be better if there was a Hercules that did the same in the comics. Especially since there are plenty of Hercules movies and shows. I know that some people know the actual mythology story because a rapper named Young Thug covered up his eyes for one of his albums the same way that King Odin did once he died.
